A private AI health coach built on your own data
Fitness trackers collect a huge amount of data, then show you a few rings and a step count. We built a self-hosted coach that pulls in everything from a tracker and smart scale, analyses it properly, and turns it into advice and plans that it actually follows up on.
The problem
A tracker and smart scale record sleep stages, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, blood oxygen, weight, body fat, activity and more. The free app shows some of it, the in-depth analysis sits behind a subscription, and none of it connects the dots, like how last week's training affected this week's sleep. There's no way to ask it a question either.
What we built
- Automatic sync every 10 minutes from the official Google Health API, including the full history. No phone app in the middle.
- A dashboard with today's numbers against personal baselines, long-term trends, reports and plans.
- A daily check-in and a weekly review, written by AI from the actual data and ready each morning and every Sunday.
- A coach you can chat with. Ask "why was my sleep worse this week?" and it looks at the numbers before it answers.
- Plans that are tracked. Goals for sleep, training or weight are saved, and progress is checked against the data, not against memory.

How the AI is kept honest
- It can only read, never change. The coach's tools are read-only queries, pre-built summaries, and its own notes and plans.
- Numbers come from the database, not the model. Daily summaries and baselines are calculated in code and shared by the dashboard and the coach, so both always agree.
- It remembers context. The coach keeps notes and a journal, so advice builds on last week instead of starting fresh every time.
Private by design
- Your data lives on your server. The full health history is stored in a database on our own hardware, not in someone else's cloud app. The AI only sees the figures it looks up to answer a question.
- Locked down. It's reachable from anywhere but protected by its own login, and the first password can only be set from the home network.
- Nothing lost if a field changes. The raw data is kept, so if the provider changes a format, it's fixed and re-read without downloading anything again.
